Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Jai Hind’ Tweet Post IAF Airstrike Irks Pakistan; Files Petition For Her Removal As UNICEF Ambassador
On February 26, twelve days after the Pulwama attack, India launched an anti-terror strike against Jaish-e-Mohammad, terror training camp in Pakistan’s Balakot wherein many terrorists were killed. Post the airstrike, Bollywood and TV fraternity started tweeting in support of the Indian Armed Forces.

Priyanka Chopra was also amongst those who tweeted by writing, “Jai Hind.” While Indians are pleased with her reaction, people from the neighbouring country didn’t take too keenly to her comment. An online petition has been started in Pakistan asking for her removal as the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

"War between two nuclear powers can only lead to destruction & death. As goodwill ambassador of UNICEF, Priyanka Chopra was supposed to stay neutral and peaceful but her tweet in favour of Indian armed forces after they invaded Pakistan airspace shows otherwise. She doesn't deserve this title anymore," the petition read. As of now, the petition has a few thousand signatures. It bears no mention of Jaish-e-Mohammad, the Pakistan-based terrorist outfit which claimed responsibility for the attack.

On the work front, Priyanka paired up with hubby Nick Jonas for Jonas’ Brothers latest single, Sucker. Recently, she made an appearance with Kareena Kapoor Khan on Karan Johar’s chat show Koffee With Karan 6. She will be seen in The Sky is Pink that stars Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim in it.
